Saint Anthony Window St. Anne is the mother of the Virgin Mary and grandmother of Christ. On the window she has a reddish brown mantle, violet-pink robe and white veil. Her right hand is lifted in a teaching position. Her left hand protectingly holds little Mary. Anne's face lovingly turns toward her. Mary, dressed in green mantle and white robe, holds a book with her left hand. Anne apparently is teaching her. Her right hand is gently put on her heart. We see forecast her title, Mother of Wisdom. Light from heaven falls on Anne and Mary. Lilies grow out of the half globe on which they stand, symbolizing Mary's eternal virginity. Red roses also grow symbolizing the motherly love of Anne. We see a basket filled with scrolls on the right bottom, symbolizing the prophecies about Mary in the Old Testament.
